Work it Sista!

Ok, so Saturday was a big day in the S house! I was woken up by a phone call from the momma bear to meet her for coffee - let the record state: this was WAY too early for a Saturday wake up!!! I got a little handy and bought a black ansander...then decided I needed some new shoes from DSW before the manly sanding began. After sanding, painting and sweating my behind off in the garage, I then headed into the bathroom to do a patch job on the cabinets and bathroom wall from Ellie's (my crazy puppy) teething handiwork. Lastly, I am working on the SEA business cards to be ready for printing next week. Phew, and if that wasn't enough - E's hubby Ben is moving in to my house tomorrow for the next month while he's in Baton Rouge for an internship.

E also had a very busy weekend.... She actually brought a hot glue gun into a Subway sandwich shop in order to finish one of her custom creations on her way to a Knoxville wedding. She also wore one of her latest and greatest designs that night to represent the SEA sister brand! Good job E! keep the guns loaded...with glue that is.

What's Cooking, You Ask?

Hello ALL...wanted to update everyone on what we've been up to and where things are headed at the moment. Let's see, since our latest revelation to start with "Sea Sister" products to bring to all of the beach gals of the world, we've just been taking it one day at a time. We are "officially official" with our LLC and are working on getting our trademark next. We have a new bride that wants us to make a bunch of stuff for her October wedding (yippee!!) and Em's going to make some cute little baby headbands for Wesleyann (VUEphotographyonline.com). She's also offered to send us pics of our work to share with everyone! (Whata' gal, huh!) We can't wait to see the beautiful pics from the VUE photography shoot this past Wednesday with the gorgeous belts we did for them!! (Will post ASAP) Other things going on...we have placed our t-shirt order and will have our fabulous shirts THIS FRIDAY. We are also waiting on our oyster charm we are having made specifically for our pearl bracelets and necklaces we are making and selling to aid in the Gulf Coast Recovery. In order to get all of our latest and greatest to ya, we are in the process of making our website so you can purchase as much and as many SEA sister products you DESIRE :)

Who Wants To BE a SEA Sister?!?

So, we got to thinking…considering our company name is so darn cute, we thought we should start with THAT as our first set of products and projects. After meeting with Erin Douglass, we were enlightened about how many companies may grow in a different direction than originally planned. We have been so busy with organizing what products to make that we lost sight of another brilliant idea- SEA Sister" products! We started working on printing some tee shirts with Erin after realizing how catchy the phrase "SEA Sisters" really is and getting those to ya'll as soon as possible. We actually put them into production TODAY!
If you’re a southern gal you likely go to the beach with your girlfriends and look forward to it all year! Bada Bing, Bada Boom….They are your “Sea Sisters” of course! So, with this little seed growing in our minds, we have decided to start making products for the "Sea Sisters" of the world. We figured, we should keep it simple, fun and get some cute stuff out there before the summer is gone for all of you! Who knows, maybe this will inspire more people to keep their sea sister trips planned or even encourage some to plan one- because you KNOW we can always use some girlfriend time! So gals, get ready for some kick booty beach girl gear coming your way from your sista friends, The SEA Sisters :)

Wrap UP of the Weekend in the BIG B.R.

So, Em just got back from a “working weekend” in B.R. with mom and Sarah. We like to say Ruthie (momma to SEA sisters) is our very UNsilent- silent partner. If anyone knows her…you KNOW what we’re talking about- But, she is also the one giving us FLIGHT on this journey, so Momma…props to you!

Back to business…as you may have already read, we met with Erin Douglass (wepilates.com) on Saturday - WHAT a meeting! Emily couldn’t even make her usual freak lists as there were so many ideas floating and nonstop talking going on. It ended with a couple of freebies - shirts- (that none of us have taken off since) and a LOT of information to go on. Saturday evening we made another handmade belt to supplement the one we made for Emily’s reception “party belt” that we sent to the VUEphotography gals for their big photo shoot this Wednesday! (How Exciting) If they are the chosen winners in the contest, their work will be on the COVER of Southern Weddings Magazine! (Eeeeks, and maybe our BELTS too!!) Sunday we finished up the belt (this one has touches of aqua and teal flowers!) and worked on a few custom projects for a friend’s wedding this weekend. We haven’t mentioned the boring business stuff, but a lot of what we've been working on along with the designing has been all the paperwork/business things. I mean shoot, if we’re gonna be a legit biz, we better start like one, so we’re getting our LLC, trademarks, bank accounts, and whatever else we are supposed to file/stamp/send/order/pay in line before we have our stuff available for you to buy. NO worries all, Sarah works at a law firm and Ashley's business sense is getting things done at record breaking speeds!

UPDATES! UPDATES! UPDATES!

So it's been a crazy couple of days since we got this thing rolling! A few more projects have come our way & we want to tell you all about them!

We have decided to donate a portion of the profits from our first year to the recovery efforts for the oil spill in the Gulf Coast. Growing up in south Louisiana and spending our summers on the Florida coast, we know this is where our heart is. We want to help bring awareness to the devastation through our companies efforts. We came up with our company name, the "SEA sisters", not only because our names spell "SEA" {Sarah + Emily + Ashley}, but also because of our love of the ocean & the memories we have from our time at the beach. Our family beach trips to the Gulf over the years have made us closer as a family and have created the foundation that our company has grown from.

One of our newest projects is making some AMAZING t-shirts to bring some brand awareness to our situation, while also support the recovery efforts in the Gulf Coast. The t-shirt idea grew out of a connection with a family friend's company...(wepilates.com). We Pilates is an AWESOME company that sells clothing for pilates/yoga wear. You should definitely check them out! The owner has also very generously offered to help mentor us on starting a new biz & on how to be successful young women in this crazy world! These are the sorts of people that God has placed in our lives to help us along the way and we couldn't be more grateful for her help and support. We are meeting with her Saturday to talk about our shirt design ideas and are very anxious to hear all of her wisdom! The shirts will likely have our "Sea sisters" logo on the front and something on the back about our companies efforts in supporting the Gulf Coast. These are not your typical T's...they are amazingly soft and wonderful and we are looking forward to making them available to ALL very soon!

Emily and Sarah will be together this weekend in Baton Rouge working on all of our projects and are sure to have LOTS of updates for you after the weekend!!! STAY TUNED!

A GREAT First Day!

Soooo, it's only been ONE day and already we feel the grace of God's work in our business! We have received an overwhelming amount of support with yesterday's official "Blog Launch." On top of all of the love being sent our way, we have a total of 4 clients to date!! Not too shabby for being open for business for less than 24 hours, eh?!? We are making some fun hair pieces and flower pins for a friend's wedding in two weeks, a bunch of signs for Southern Marsh's retail displays, AND... get ready... we're lending Em's bridal belt and making an additional one for VUE's upcoming photo shoot for the big contest to be on Southern Wedding magazine's cover!!! Can we say AMAZING!!!! No worries, I'll be sure to let everyone know when Oprah calls! Almost forgot...the InRegister in Baton Rouge contacted us to meet and hear more about the bizz! So, we have some fun projects to start working on and are anxious to see what's around the corner. Looks like it's sunny skies for the SEA Sisters! We wanted to send out a big THANK YOU to everyone and are looking forward to what the future will hold. We're OPEN and READY for Business...let us know whatcha need!
